The August 2 deadline is locked
Despite the Digital Omnibus delaying high-risk AI obligations to December 2027, Article 50 transparency was never delayed. Four obligations land on August 2:

Existing AI systems (shipped before August 2) get until December 2 for machine-readable marking. But chatbot disclosure? August 2, no exceptions.

Comp AI released v0.2.5 of their MCP server on July 24 — supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR. Notice what's missing? EU AI Act. The first-mover window for SOC/ISO/GDPR MCP is closing, but the EU AI Act MCP window is still wide open.
3. systemprompt.io validated the $1.50/report MCP model
systemprompt.io sells an EU AI Act compliance report at $1.50 per usage via x402 micropayments (USDC on Base). This validates that there is demand for pay-per-use compliance reports delivered via MCP. Their model: 5 free tools attract traffic, 1 paid report converts. 4. The AI governance ecosystem keeps exploding
Over a dozen new EU AI Act repos appeared this week alone — risk classifiers, evidence desks, Article 50 transparency toolkits. GitHub searches show 33+ new repos for EU AI Act and 680+ for NIS2/CRA/DORA since July 22. The market is moving fast.

Why the enterprise vendors won't help you this week
Vanta is preparing for the August 2 deadline too — but at $20K–$80K/year with a mandatory sales call, their onboarding pipeline is 1–2 weeks at best. If you contact them today, you'll be in their pipeline, not in compliance.
